A team of lawyers from our South African offices, led by Director’s Tamara Gerwel and Izak Lessing, closed a significant, multi-jurisdictional transaction this week for African Infrastructure Investment Managers Proprietary Limited (AIIM).

We advised AIIM on AIIF3 Clean Energy’s subscription for shares in Bboxx Limited in exchange for shares in Beyond Energy Investment Limited held by AIIF3 Clean Energy. Bboxx Limited operates a data-driven super platform which provides access to energy and essential products and services across Africa and has various subsidiaries in the following jurisdictions: the United Kingdom, France, China, Ghana, Kenya, Senegal, Togo, Congo, Nigeria, Mali, Cote d’Ivoire, Mauritius, Rwanda and Burkina Faso. The deal, governed by English law, involved a due diligence into a number of these subsidiaries.

Stephen Kennedy-Good, head of M&A at Deneys said:

This deal showcases our depth of expertise and ability to close out complex deals across a host of countries for our clients. Congratulations to Tamara Gerwel, Izak Lessing, Mark Griffiths, Dale Cridlan, Cameron Bernhardt and Aqeelah Petersen
