Matt Ash of Deneys nominated for Castle Wind Farm transaction

Matt Ash of Deneys was named on a winning deal at the IJGlobal Awards 2023 in connection with the Castle Wind Farm project, recognised in the Renewable Energy Deal of the Year – Wind category.

Deneys advised Sibanye-Stillwater on its 20-year power purchase agreement for the 89MW Castle Wind Farm near De Aar in the Northern Cape. The project enables wheeled power supply to support Sibanye-Stillwater’s decarbonisation objectives while strengthening energy security for its South African operations.

The nomination reflects Deneys’ depth of expertise in wind energy and its broader strength across South Africa’s renewable energy sector, including onshore wind, solar PV, battery storage and private power arrangements. The firm continues to advise sponsors, lenders and offtakers on complex renewable energy projects in South Africa and across the continent, playing a central role in the region’s energy transition.
