Deneys advises on award-nominated Infinity/Lekela renewable energy transaction

Deneys, through partner Jackie Midlane, advised on the Infinity Power acquisition of Lekela Power, a transaction nominated for Middle East and Africa Deal of the Year at the Project Finance International (PFI) Awards.

The deal involved Infinity Power’s acquisition of the entire shareholding of Lekela Power, an Africa-focused wind power platform operating 1GW of projects across South Africa, Egypt and Senegal, together with a 1.8GW development pipeline. The acquisition established Infinity Power as Africa’s largest pure-play renewable energy company.

Jackie Midlane played a key role within the cross-border legal team advising on the transaction, providing South African expertise on one of the most significant renewable energy platform acquisitions in the region.

The mandate underscores Deneys’ strength in large-scale energy and infrastructure transactions and its position as a leading South African firm advising on complex, cross-border renewables deals shaping Africa’s energy transition.
